A privacy policy, in plain English.

We built Puzzles Time to be quiet, private, and offline-first. This document explains exactly what that means — what we collect, what we don't, and the short list of tools that help us keep the lights on.

§ 01 — Overview

The short version.

Puzzles Time ("we", "our", or "the studio") is an independent studio crafting offline-first puzzle applications for iPhone and iPad. We respect your privacy and have designed our apps to work with the least amount of data possible.

In short No account is required, your gameplay stays on your device, and we do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, photos, location, health, or financial information.
§ 02 — On-device

Data stored on your device.

The following information is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers:

  • Current and past puzzles — grids, progress, pencil marks
  • Statistics such as best times, streaks, and completions
  • App preferences — theme, difficulty, sound, haptics

If you have iCloud Backup enabled in iOS Settings, Apple may include this data in your encrypted iCloud backup. This is handled entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

§ 03 — Third parties

The small list of services we rely on.

We use a small number of industry-standard services to keep our apps running smoothly. These services may process the following limited, non-personal data:

Google Firebase — Analytics & Crashlytics

  • Anonymous crash diagnostics and performance metrics
  • Aggregate usage events (e.g. which difficulty levels are opened) for product improvement
  • Device model, iOS version, app version, and approximate region derived from IP address

Firebase data is governed by Firebase's Privacy Policy.

Advertising — when present

  • If our apps display ads, advertising partners may receive the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
  • If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", no IDFA is shared and any ads shown are contextual only.
§ 04 — Your choices

The controls are yours.

  • Tracking: When asked by Apple's ATT prompt, you can respond "Ask App Not to Track" to decline personalized advertising at any time.
  • iOS Settings: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking to change your tracking preference for our apps.
  • Industry opt-outs: You may additionally use opt-out portals from Google, the Digital Advertising Alliance, or EDAA.
§ 05 — GDPR

Regional rights — EU, UK, EEA.

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, you will be presented with a consent request before any personalized advertising is delivered. You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we process about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to processing or request portability
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@puzzlestime.com.

§ 06 — Children

Children's privacy.

Our apps are general-audience products and are not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

§ 07 — Security

How we protect data.

All network traffic to and from our apps is encrypted using HTTPS / TLS. Analytics and crash data are handled by Apple and Google through their standard, industry-vetted security controls.

No passwords to leak Because we don't ask you to create an account, there are no user credentials on our end that could be lost, sold, or stolen.
§ 08 — Changes

Changes to this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through an app update description or in-app notice.
